The "Part Transactions Require Accounts" setting ensures that the Accounts, To and From, are required fields when processing any Part Transaction from the Part record itself.
 
For example, when this setting is set to Yes, if a user selects a Part, then selects Action > Checkout, they will be required to enter a To and From Account.

This feature was intended to ensure that Part costs are being correctly associated with the necessary Expense and Balance Accounts. Please note that this setting is only enforced when processing a Part Transaction from the Parts page itself, not, for example, when checking out a Part from a Work Order via Action > Add Actual Part.

 

To require Accounts when completing Part Transaction do the following as an admin user:
  1. Select Administration.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Inventory.
  4. Select Yes in "Part Transactions Require Accounts?".
  5. Select Save.
