InformationTitlePM Generation Lead (Days)ContentContentThe Generation Lead (Days) field allows Users to Generate PMs in advance of their Next Due Date. The Generation Date, or the day which the system or user selects to generate is decided on the PM Asset’s Next Due Date minus the Generation Lead (days) field. If the Generation Date (Next Due Date minus the Generation Lead (Days)) falls within the timeframe of the Generation Frequency from the Work Settings, the PM will still automatically generate. To change the Generation Lead (Days) of a PM, use the following steps: Click on Work at the top of the page.Click on PMs.Select New or navigate to the PM of your choice and select Edit.Click on the Scheduling tab of the PM.Press the Edit button next to the scheduled assetEnter the desired number of days into the "Generation Lead (Days)" field.Press OK.Press Save. As an example: If you have a PM that you want to generate 30 days in advance, and you have the PM Calendar Scheduling set to once every 365 days for this Asset, you will want to enter in 30 into the Generation Lead (days). Now lets say you Asset’s Next Due date for this PM is June 30th and your Generation Lead (days) is set to 25. The new Generation Date is June 5th. If you have your Generation Frequency set to 2 weeks in the Work Setting with the Generation Services turned on, the system will generate this PM Work Order on May 22nd. (Because of this, when using the Generation Lead (days) field, most users will find setting the Generation Frequency in the Work Settings to 24 Hours is the best solution.) The PM Generation Lead (Days) field itself will not update per the Generation Frequency setting, but a PM will automatically generate if the Projected Generation Date (Next Due Date minus the Generation Lead (Days)) falls within the timeframe of the Generation Frequency from the Work Settings.
