The ABC Analysis Report allows users to analyze the existing ABC classifications on their parts, and provides a recommended class based on usage data.

Example Reports:

1. Identify Parts Misclassified Based on Actual Usage

Relevant fields:

• Current Class

• Class Based on Qty

• Class Based on Cost

• ADVU

How the report is used:

• Compare current ABC class with recommended classes.

• Identify high‑usage parts incorrectly classified as B or C.

• Detect low‑usage parts incorrectly classified as A.

• Update classifications to improve stocking accuracy.

 

2. Optimize Stocking Levels for High‑Value or High‑Usage Parts

Relevant fields:

• ADVU

• Max / Min

• Reorder Quantity

• Stock?

How the report is used:

• Identify A‑class parts requiring tighter stocking controls.

• Adjust Min/Max levels based on actual usage trends.

• Ensure critical parts are stocked appropriately to prevent downtime.

• Reduce excess inventory for low‑usage C‑class parts.

 

3. Support Procurement and Budgeting Decisions

Relevant fields:

• Class Based on Cost

• Balance Account

• Expense Account

• Taxable

How the report is used:

• Identify high‑cost parts requiring procurement oversight.

• Review financial account assignments for accuracy.

• Support budgeting by identifying parts with high annual usage value.

• Ensure taxable parts are handled correctly in purchasing workflows.

 

 

How to Set Up Report:

1. Select the ABC Analysis Template.
2. Select the fields to include in the report by selecting them in Columns.
3. Select "Edit Filter" to filter the report results. For example to only include "In Stock" Parts use (Stock? - Equal - Stock).
