Webhooks can be set up in MVP One to allow data to be sent from MVP One to another application. The sending of data must be triggered by a specific "event" in MVP One.

For example a Webhook could be set up so that if a Work Request is created it will trigger a response in another application.

 

Use the following steps to access the Web Hooks section:

1. Select Administration.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Web Hooks.

 

 

Web Hook Explanation

Setup: A user configures a webhook in an application, specifying the events they want to trigger the webhook and providing a URL where the data should be sent.

Event Occurrence: When the specified event occurs in the source application (such as a new user signup, a payment confirmation, or an update to a record), the application generates a message containing relevant data.

HTTP POST Request: The source application then sends an HTTP POST request to the URL provided for the webhook, including the payload data in the request body.

Handling by Receiver: The receiving application (the one hosting the webhook) listens for incoming requests at the specified URL. When it receives a request from the source application, it processes the data according to predefined logic or actions.

Response (Optional): After processing the data, the receiving application may optionally send a response back to the source application, acknowledging receipt or providing additional information.

Webhooks are commonly used for various purposes such as real-time notifications, integrating third-party services, automating workflows, and syncing data between applications. They offer a more efficient and immediate way to communicate between different systems compared to traditional polling methods, where one application repeatedly checks another for updates. By leveraging webhooks, developers can create seamless integrations that respond to events in real time, enhancing the functionality and connectivity of their applications.

 

 

Setting Up Web Hooks

 

 

Use the following steps to set up a Web Hook:

1. Check off the "Active" box for the Web Hook event you want to activate.
2. Enter a URL for MVP One to deliver the event data to. This will be the "address" for the receiving application.
3. Select "Verify" to test the Web Hook connection. This will send a test message to the receiving application, and will allow you to verify if the connection is functioning.
