InformationTitlePdMs OverviewContentContentPdM stands for Predictive Maintenance. They are templates for Work Orders (similar to PMs or Job Plans) that are used in cases where something indicates (a Text Reading or a Meter Reading) that there is a potential problem with an asset. The significant difference between PMs and PdMs is that PMs occur on a regular, recurring basis, whereas PdMs only occur when something forces them to generate (a Text Reading or Meter Reading) that generally indicates something is about to go wrong. PMs are a type of work that is done to prevent future failure by regular upkeep on the asset, whereas PdMs is work done to prevent a potential failure that is indicated by something on the asset (Text Reading or Meter Reading). Example: You may have a temperature meter on a piece of equipment. This meter could be tied to a PdM so that when the meter reading reads too high of a temperature you know that something is about to go wrong, and the PdM generates a Work Order to resolve this problem. In a perfect world, the PdMs would never generate (because nothing ever went wrong!) whereas the PMs will continue to generate on their regular schedule as they are recurring tasks. When the trigger (the Meter Reading or the Text Reading) happens a Work Order is automatically generated using the details (like Work Type, Estimated Parts, Crafts, etc) on the PdM. PdMs can be created by doing the following: Click on Work.Select PdM.Select New.Enter in detail in the General section.Select Scheduling.Choose to set up the PdM using a Meter Reading or a Text Reading.Fill in any other desired information.Select Save. When using a Meter Reading with a PdM, the PdM will generate a Work Order whenever a Meter Reading is entered that is less than the Min, or greater than the Max reading setup on the Scheduling tab of the PdM. When using a Text Reading alongside a PdM, a Work Order will be generated by the PdM whenever a Text Reading is inputted from an Instruction Step for the relevant asset scheduled on the PdM. The asset must be included on the Work Order where the instruction step for the text reading activates the PdM to generate it. However, if you input a value to trigger a Work Order, but that Work Order is associated with an asset not listed on the PdM, no action will occur. A PdM Work Order created (via Text Reading or Meter Reading) from another Work Order, will list the Parent WO ID.URL NamePdMs-Overview
