Part Types are categories that Parts can be placed into to organize and subdivide them. The Part Type field is generally used as a more specific category of Parts. Examples could include "Pipe" and "Fuse."

After Part Types have been created they can be applied to Parts in order to place the Part into that category. 

 

 

Creating New Part Types

 

To create a Part Type use the following steps:

1. Select Inventory.
2. Select Part Types.
3. Select New.
4. Enter a Part Type ID.
5. Enter a Description of the Part Type.
6. Select Save.

 

 

How to Fill Out a Part Type Record

 

 

Part Type: The Part Type field displays the name of the Part Type.

Description: The Description field provides information about the Part Type and what types of parts fall into this category.
