InformationTitleLine Item TypesContentContentA Line Item Type must be selected when adding a Line Item to a Purchase Order. This will determine the type of item that is being ordered in MVP. See below for the specifications of each Line Item Type and how they differ from one another. Part: This Line Item Type should be used when ordering items into your system's Inventory. This is the default Line Item Type that will be selected when adding a new Line Item Type. The Part Line Item can be received to Stock within MVP by selecting a Warehouse and Stock Location. Additional information such as the Model Number, Account Code, and Manufacturer ID can also be added. Service: This Line Item Type should be used when ordering non-inventory items or when paying for a contractor. This is a useful Line Item Type to use when purchasing something that does not have a designated record type in MVP. A service can be received to an Asset, a Work Order, or Work Group. Credit: This Line Item should be used when you want to refund a cost from a Purchase Order. Selecting the Credit Line Item Type allows you to enter the Unit Cost as negative, which will then refund that amount from the PO once the line item is received. For example you may receive a Part Line Item from a Purchase Order, but later return the part and want that refund represented on the Purchase Order. This can be accomplished through the following workflow: Edit the Purchase Order> Add another Line Item> Set the Line Item Type to Credit> Add the refund amount as a negative Unit Cost> Receive this Line Item. Once the Credit Line Item has been received, the refund will be reflected on the total Purchase Order Cost. URL NameLine-Item-Types
