This article shows how to setup your Work Request Approval Chain. This will allow you to manage the workflow of newly submitted Work Requests and choose which to process into Work Orders.

WR Approval Chains

Work Request Approval Chains are used to determine which Users can approve Work Requests based on a chosen order.

 

 

Use the following steps to create a WR Approval Chain:

  1. Select Administration.
  2. Select Approval Chain, WR.
  3. Select New.
  4. Enter a Name for the WR Approval Chain.
  5. Select "Default?" if this is the Default Chain.
  6. Select "Enforce Approval Chain" if this Chain should be enforced.
  7. Select the paper icon to add Approval Levels:
    1. Name the level.
    2. Select if all must approve, or how many in the level must Approve the WR.
    3. Select the Order of this level.
    4. Select users from the bottom, and click Add, to add them to the Selected User(s) field.
    5. Select OK to save the level.
  8. Add as many levels as needed.
  9. Select Save when complete.

 

 
To edit a WR Approval Chain, use the following steps:
  1. Select Administration.
  2. Select Approval Chain, WR.
  3. Select the green plus symbol to add new levels, or the pencil icon to edit existing levels.
  4. Select Save when complete.

 

 

 

Asset Lists can be added to WR Approval Chains. If an Asset List is applied to a WR Approval Chain, then that Chain will be used whenever a WR is created for one of the Assets in the Asset List.

 

To link an Asset List to a WR Approval Chain use the following steps:

  1. Select Approval Chain
  2. Select Edit. 
  3. Under the Asset List ID dropdown select an Asset List.
  4. Select Save.
