InformationTitleUser Type BreakdownContentContent When setting up Users within MVP there are several User Types to choose from. These User Types each have different roles they are meant to fill within your maintenance operation, and therefore different permissions and restrictions within the system. A full breakdown of each User type follows below. Maintenance: This is the main User type within MVP and applies to any maintenance employees or admins that use MVP. There are no restrictions to the role permissions that can be assigned to this User. This User type could apply to maintenance techs, maintenance planners, storeroom clerks, and several other roles within your organization. Contractors: This User type applies to non-employees of your organization that need to use MVP to track their work. There are no restrictions to the role permissions that can be assigned to this User. This User type could apply to any outside contractors that are working with your organization but are not permanent employees. Requestors: This User type applies to any non-maintenance employees that may need to “request” work to be performed or purchases to be made. Because these Users are not meant to be full time users of MVP, their roles have limited permissions. In terms of creating new records they are restricted to the Work and Purchasing sections. This User type could apply to any employee not in maintenance that needs to periodically contact maintenance for repair or other work. Using MVP they will be able to ensure that these requests are documented and tracked. Customers: This User type applies to customers of your organization that may need to view site data or request work to be performed. This role will have limited permissions to view data and create Work or Purchase Requests. This User type could apply to any customer of your organization. A possible use for this role would be to give one of your customers the ability to view your site data without allowing them to perform edits. TPM: This User type applies to employees within production that may need to perform occasional maintenance. This role has limited restrictions that will allow them to view Work requests and complete certain actions on Work Orders. One way to think about this role is as a Requestor with the ability to track and perform their own maintenance work within MVP. This User type could apply to a member of the production team who also performs minor maintenance work that does not require the maintenance team's attention. Any questions regarding licensing for these User types should be directed towards your Account Executive.
