Receive a Purchase Order Line Item but Don't Add to Inventory

If you need to receive a PO Line Item, but you do not want to add the Part to your Parts page, you can receive the Line Item to any Receive To choice other than Stock, and uncheck the Add New Part checkbox on the Line Item screen. This will allow you to receive the Line Item, and still track the costs associated with it, but it will not add anything to your Parts page.

To receive a PO Line Item but not add it to inventory use the following steps:

Select Purchasing.
Select Purchase Orders.
Select a Purchase Order record.
Select Edit.
Select the Items tab.
Select the pencil icon next to the line item you want to edit or click on the green plus symbol to add a new line item.
Change the "Receive To" option to anything other than Stock.
Enter a valid "Receive To ID".
Uncheck the "Add New Part" checkbox.
Select OK.
Select Save.
Select Action.
Select Receive.
