The MTBF Report displays the mean time between each failure, as determined by Work Orders only with Failure Modes, those with either Failure Modes or not, or only those without Failure Modes.

The basic formula used in the MTBF report is (The days between the creation date of the first WO and the most recent WO) / Total WOs = MTBF.

There are parameters to determine if you want to have it consider all Work Orders to be failures or just Work Orders with Failure Modes as well, depending on if you and your organization use Failure Analysis.
