When a Part ID that is not in the system is received to a Stock Location, a new part record is automatically created. If the Line Item is set to be received somewhere other than a Stock Location, Users have the choice to create the new Part record or not based on their choice to Add New Part. Add New Part Checkbox When set to True (the checkbox is checked), a new Part record will be created if the Part does not exist, and it is received somewhere other than a Stock Location. When set to False (the checkbox is unchecked), a new Part record will not be created if the Part does not exist, and it is received somewhere other than a Stock Location. If receiving to a Stock Location, it will not matter whether Add New Part is true or false, as it will require that a new part record be created upon receipt. Role Permissions Access to the "Add New Part" checkbox is managed in a Role under Fields> Purchase Order Line Item> Add to Stock. This can be set to "Normal" or "Hidden." Normal will allow users to check or uncheck the "Add New Part" checkbox as normal. Hidden will hide the "Add New Part" checkbox from Users. This means that whether the receipt will create a new part or not, is determined by where the Part is received to.
