When a PO Line Item is received to Stock, a Part will be automatically created if the Part on the Line Item does not already exist.

By setting up your Purchase Order Line Item to receive somewhere other than stock (Cost Center, Work Order, Asset, etc.) and unchecking the "Add New Part" box, you can prevent this process from occurring if desired.

 

To prevent a new Part from being created when receiving a PO Line Item do the following:

1. On the Line Item set the Receive To option to any other choice besides Stock.
2. Uncheck the box labeled "Add New Part" if it is checked.
