Part Classes are categories that Parts can be placed into to organize and subdivide them. The Part Class field is generally used as a more general category of Parts. Examples could include "Electrical" and "Mechanical."

After Part Classes have been created they can be applied to Parts in order to place the Part into that category. 

 

 

Creating New Part Classes

To create a Part Class use the following steps:

1. Select Inventory.
2. Select Part Classes.
3. Select New.
4. Enter a Part Class ID.
5. Enter a Description of the Part Class.
6. Select Save.

 

 

How to Fill Out a Part Class Record

Part Class: The Part Class field displays the name of the Part Class.

Description: The Description field provides information about the Part Class and what types of parts fall into this category.
