InformationTitleSolutions for PMs that are Not GeneratingContentContent Issues may arise if a PM does not have the Asset/ Scheduling section set up. If a PM does not have any asset listed in the "Scheduling" section of the PM record, MVP will not be able to generate a Work Order for that PM, as an asset is required to be listed in order to create a PM. A filtered search can be created to view PMs that are do not contain an Asset. Create a filter that includes both the Asset ID under Asset Calendar and Asset Meter. Floating PM Does Not Have Next Due Date: Calendar-based PMs scheduled with the floating option will require that the previously generated Work Order be Completed before the Next Due Dates will be decided, and therefore another WO to be generated.(If a PM is Canceled or Closed, the Next Due Date will need to manually be updated). To locate PMs that do not have a listed next due date, create a filter search that is identical to the below image. The date 12/31/1900 is a placeholder date MVP uses on the back end to indicate if a PM has a Next Due Date of "In Process. You can also filter to see if any PM Is set to "Floating", which can help indicate which PMs may not be generating properly. Regenerate Only if WO is Completed: Much like a Floating PM, if a PM is set to only regenerate when a Work Order is completed, the PM will require that the previously generated Work Order be Completed before the Next Due Date will populate. (If a PM is Canceled or Closed, the Next Due Date will need to manually be updated). To locate PMs that are set up to only generate a new Work Order once the previous one is completed, you can use the following filter. Inactive PM or Asset: If a PM has been inactivated, it will no longer generate Work Orders. To see if a PM has been inactivated, you can use the following filter set up to locate all inactive PMs. Only users who can Inactivate PM records can see inactive PMs. If an Asset scheduled on a PM has been inactivated, that will also prevent the PM from generating Work Orders for that asset. If a PM has not generated a Work Order when it should have, if you open the PM Template, in the "Scheduling" section it will show a line through an Asset, if the Asset has been inactivated. In-service PM and Asset do not Match: When creating or editing a PM, there is a check box for "In Service" that can be used to determine if a PM will generate a Work Order for an Asset. The "In Service" box will need to match between the Asset, and the PM in order for a Work Order to generate (The box would need to either be checked on both the Asset and PM, or unchecked on both the Asset and the PM). Generation services not on: If none of your scheduled PMs are generating Work Orders, then the Automatic Generation service may not be turned on. To turn on the Automatic Generation service is turned on, any Admin can use the followings steps: Administration> Settings>Work> Generation Service drop-down set to On> Press Save. The effective generation date is not correct because of Generation Lead: The Generation Lead (Days) field allows Users to Generate PMs in advance of their Next Due Date. The Generation Date or the day which the system or user selects to generate is decided on the PM Asset’s Next Due Date minus the Generation Lead (days) field. If the Generation Date (Next Due Date minus the Generation Lead (Days)) falls outside of the timeframe of the Generation Frequency from the Work Settings, the PM will not automatically generate. PM More than its schedule: When setting up a PM, users are able to set the "Next Due Date" regardless of the pattern and frequency. As an example, a user could set up a yearly PM that should generate a Work Order In December, but they are creating the PM in June, when pressing the calendar button in scheduling, the system will automatically add the current date as the "next due date."
