Power BI & OData

MVP data can be exported from MVP to Power BI using the OData feed. The steps to export can be found in this Knowledge Base . Once this information has been visualized in Power BI, the resulting report can be added to your MVP Dashboard using the HTML widget.

Please note that MVP Users do not need to be Power BI users to view the Report. However they will need to have Power BI installed in order to interact with the report. For example being able to click on segments of a graph to highlight them.

Publishing to MVP

After generating and publishing your report in PowerBI use the following steps to display it on the MVP Dashboard:

  1. File> Embed Report> Publish to Web> Copy HTML Code
  2. Login to MVP and navigate to the Dashboard
  3. Click the plus symbol> Select the “Sample HTML Widget”> Click Add Widget
  4. On the Sample HTML Widget Click Edit> Select the “”symbol for Code View> Paste the HTML Code copied from PowerBI

As a note, PowerBI will now allow the MVP One API Key authentication to refresh data into PowerBi.
